10-week Health and Wellbeing Programme in Lincoln

Could Yoga4Health be for you?
- Experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood or mild to moderate depression?
- At risk of type 2 diabetes?
- At risk of cardiovascular disease?
- Feeling socially isolated?

Yoga4Health is an evidence-based 10-week programme created by the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance and commissioned by the NHS.
It’s designed to give you practical tools to help manage stress, improve your physical and mental wellbeing and support you in looking after your health.
You don’t need any previous experience of yoga.
-
Over the 10 weeks we’ll explore gentle yoga movement, breathing practices, meditation and mindfulness, relaxation and group discussion.
The practices are gentle and adaptable. You can practise on a yoga mat or from a chair and I’ll help you find versions that work for you.
You don’t need to be fit or flexible, and you certainly don’t need to be able to get yourself into complicated yoga poses.
What happens during the course?
We’ll meet once a week for 10 weeks.
Each two-hour session includes a mixture of:
- gentle movement and yoga postures
- breathing practices
- meditation and mindfulness
- relaxation
- group discussion and practical ideas for supporting your wellbeing
The idea isn’t simply to practise yoga together for two hours each week. You’ll gradually build a collection of simple techniques that you can take away and use in everyday life.
